"Arreda!" is the first publication of the Copo Sujo Label: Comics from BH to the World, launched during FIQ 2024. The Copo Sujo Label emerged from the union of Black artists from Belo Horizonte with the goal of creating a comic book that portrays life in the capital of Minas Gerais. We seek to go beyond clichés, exploring different roles, decentralizing perspectives, and valuing the stories that spring from our daily lives. Arreda is a comic book project that celebrates the cultural and artistic diversity of Belo Horizonte. We believe that the relationship between people and the city is fundamental to understanding who we are and where we come from. In this project, I contribute a story about how I met my current partner, in the streets and nightlife and artistic events of Belo Horizonte. How we were together and never realized it.
